Sega has announced it is working on a new version of the excellent PC strategy franchise Total War, addressed exclusively to mobile devices. It will be called Total War Battles and, as stated by the lead designer Renaud Charpentier, will not be "the traditional Total War you're used to."
Charpentier is part of Digital Total War, a new development team at Creative Assembly, who will have the task of creating new titles using the Unity game engine. The team is already producing prototypes of the game for about a year. "We are working on a product that is custom designed for the way you play and control systems for mobile platforms. We want to create something which highlights the strengths of an RTS portable and fits perfectly to a variety of different platforms."
